Sorry if this has been answered before but do any of you have a floating layer in the maps? For example, if landing on an airfield, I often sink below the ground layer and land about 100 feet below the visible landing strip. Like I'm landing on the bottom of a lake. I notice that many of the buildings seem to float on an upper layer as well. This seems to occur in areas with rolling hills. I've seen this on the Stalingrad and Rhineland maps. For what's worth,  I'm flying in VR with a Reverb.

Never seen this before.  I tried VR for a couple of weeks but the PQ was not high enough for my taste, but even then, never seen anything like what you are describing.

Thanks Syn_Mike. I've recently started overclocking. Perhaps this is the culprit. A complete reinstall did not solve the issue.

Do you mean this issue?

I notice that this is an old thread, but I have this exact same problem. I have asked about it in a different thread as well, but no solution. I have even changed my whole hardware (motherboard, processor, memory chips and graphics card) since I first encountered this about a year ago. Not to mention a couple of reinstalls and Steam file checks. Currently my Bodenplatte map is unusable. I have not overclocked my processor, neither the one I had a year ago nor the current one.
BTW, I've also seen this happen in Kuban, but rarely.

Any solution to this?

Make a backup of your game files, and delete the updates folder from the main IL_2 folder might fix this.

Start the launcher and it seeks for erroneous files then on booting the game.
