Flare gun in VR

Anyone using it successfully ?

 

All I get is a miniture arm, that I can't really see properly, that after I enable it, it won't go away, although I can fire flares, to add insult to injury it then prevents me firing my main guns.  In single player it's not such an issue because I can  press F2, I can then fire my main guns and they then work again when back in the cockpit.  I obviously can't do that in online games with no external view.

I thought, because it’s really FC specific, the arm, and because a few people here certainly use VR that this might be as good a place to ask as any, but yes the VR forum is an alternative.

Hagar, I have the same issue, both with flare guns and personal weapons. I used to see the tiny dissembodied arm, but now I usually don't even see the arm at all. I use a Lenovo WMR headset. 

 

I think the issue must somehow be related to the arm/weapon being drawn to remain in the foreground of a 2D view, linked to the view (pilot head) position. I've been thinking it would be really neat if we could aim pistols/flare guns using a VR hand controller instead of our view position...

I've been using both the flare guns and personal weapons without an issue using Oculus Rift. I've mapped separate buttons on my joystick for equipping personal weapon, firing it and putting it away (3 buttons). Of course I still have to aim with my head, which might not be ideal, but I've still been able to actually shoot down enemies with the pistol without any real issues.

 

Note that unequipping a flare gun / personal weapon is a separate key from the ones you press to equip them, maybe that is the issue?
