BoBP bomber escorts

I have an issue with the P51 career. After finishing the bombing run I follow the bomber group to the end of the map and the game has us turn around(end of map). After that, the group flies to the other end of the map. But before the group reaches the other end of the map to see if the mission finally completes, our entire fighter group runs out of fuel and fail the mission. Is anyone else having this issue?

I haven't seen that happen. Was it just the one time?

Every time. It seem as if the bomber group doesn't follow that nav points after reaching the target. If it helps it is the P-51 328th FS out of Asch airbase.

I've seen this outside of BoBP as well, just a couple days ago flying Ishaks on escort oddly enough. Not 15 minutes later the wing called BINGO and RTB all of the sudden. Are your flight's fuel load okay or was it auto adjusted to 67%?

I believe it was 67%. I have enough fuel for the sortie if the bombing group kept to the mission. The issue is the bomber group doesn't RTB after hitting the target waypoint. Instead of turning around, they will keep their current heading until they hit the end of the map. After that the game will force them to turn around, and they just fly the exact opposite heading to the other end of the map.

This might need the dev's attention, if you have a mission file that may be of some good use. It might be a problem with mission triggers. How many times has this happened to you?

I've had the escort mission come up 3 times in the career and all 3 have come to the same conclusion.

Next time the mission comes up I'm going to stick in real tight formation with the bombers all the way to the target. Maybe I have to be a certain distance to the bombing group.....? As of right now If I break off to attack the fighters going after the bombers, by the time our fighter group takes out the enemy forces the bombers have already gone up ahead and reached the target area.

When you have that mission. Play it to confirm the problem. Then, quit the game. Go in that directory :

E:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions

 

You sould see some files named _gen. There would be 8 files. You can check that the date of the file is the time you fly the mission. Compress the 8 files and post the files with a report of the problem.
