Resolution problem

Greetings my fellow aviators!
So, i've been unable to properly play il2 lately, simply due to the fact that when running at my monitor's native resolution (1360x768) for some reason, my monitor goes black and shows "Non optimal resolution, please use 1360x768".
The game runs windowed no problems, but i'd like to avoid that for performance problems. I used to play at 1920x1080 to counter this problem, but my monitor doesn't support this resolution, and it doesn't show up so well. The thing is, sometimes it runs normally on my native resolution, sometimes it doesn't, i never managed to find why.
I'm even afraid of launching the game, because sometimes im unable to close it or it doesn't switch back from whatever resolution its rendering, and i get stuck with a "unsupported resolution", unable to use windows and forced to restart the computer, which is extremely annoying.
Anyone has any clue as what could be causing this?

Windows 7 64x
Intel i7 4790 @3.79 GHZ
8gb ram
EVGA GTX750 ftw ed. (2gb non ti)
