Just want to say thanks :)

I've been playing flight sims since I was a child, from the ZX Spectrum and on, got quite heavily into IL2 Sturmovik with the original release from Oleg and spent many many hours flying it in all its iterations, so many fun times in multiplayer and coop, so many familiar names here too bought RoF but was never happy with the performance on my systems and something never quite felt right with it for me (too used to how IL2 was I'd imagine), had a bit of a nasty run in with a veteran who didn't share any compatible viewpoint with the use of combat sims, that along with the disaster that was CloD and having had an eye op that I took a while to recover from put me off for a good few years.  I picked up BoS a while back when it was on sale and have dropped into these forums every now and then to have a browse, never really playing it a great deal other than an occasional practice take off and (usually crash) landing, then a couple of years ago picked up a bargain Oculus Rift and spent a little time trying to get it working well enough to play, my aging system being the issue, however a new AIO watercooler and a decent (4.4ghz) overclock on my 2500k coupled with a donated 980ti and the installation of opencomposite and it's very playable and wow!!! What a sim!!! This is what I have been wanting since I was a child, to be actually able to fly these planes in VR is just on another level entirely and I can only try to imagine just how much better it's going to get in the future, or even could be now with a high end system.  I'd really like to thank not only Jason for his vision and stepping up when things were looking bleak for sims (as I recall it, could be entirely incorrect on this... either way that had to be a significant risk to his financial security!), his team have done outstanding things here and if I wasn't in a bit of a employment downturn right now I suspect I'd have bought every single aircraft and edition available, certainly will be when things change!!! Thanks to everybody who supports this genre, you're all part of the machine keeping it alive and kicking ?

 

Might even venture into multiplayer at some point though I suspect I'll be at a significant disadvantage now I actually need to contort myself to check six, darn TIR has made me lazy ?

 

Also, big thanks goes out to Sevenless again for the gift of BoM Premium earlier in the year, it was this that really got me flying again S!
