It's quite possible that the team overextended themselves in 2019 with running three projects.

-the FC just went out, so expecting them to know what they want (and can!) do next ain't serious. Normandy has announced because there had to be next WW2 title or the shop closes. It has all signs of thing they could decide on quickly (including risk evaluation), do it in their sleep and be sure it will be popular. FC2 requires actual consideration from them. There is no question if next WW2 title is comming, only how much can they pull off.

If I understand correctly, FC1 was almost fully externally developed by Yugra Media, but you may be right.

While I wasn't exactly waiting for FC2 to be announced (though quite sure it was going to be PTO next, that was a bad call with the morse code), it's hard not to speculate when there is simply no news at all about WW1. This community has proven that it can run on breadcrumbs, it's a lot harder to have hope when there is nothing in sight. In that respect we're no different from WW2.

Still hoping for at least some of the bugs reported during early access to get fixed in a coming update, not to mention that mentions of the Fokker Dr.I being fixed "soon" happened exactly one year ago.

But hey, with Normandy we'll have what, like, 9 Bf 109 engine variants?

Han said on November 7th in his 4.001update notes:

…..

We hope to make more Flying Circus volumes in the future and we thank those who have jumped into this new product so far!

…….

So take heart Bender;

The WW2 people are spoiled for sure, and of course still asking for more.  "Now we need the 109 G10 in *these* configurations!"  "And we need this minor variant of whatever plane, that bears basically no difference to this variant over here!"  "We need *this* plane so that *this* time and theatre can be simulated- even though the actual missions we build and play will be functionally no different from any of the ones we already play now!"

Meanwhile I'm sitting here in my uncompressed DVII rolling my eyes.

Yep I knew it, here comes FC2, FC3, and FC4.

Yes! This is where the priorities must lie and by God I like your enthusiasm Zoo. I'm sure Han is bustin' his bollocks to get his team back into FC and WWI, their true love. I mean WWII is so …. retro.. GAH! Tanks and Typhoons no thanks! Give me wood and wire, a liberal dose of castor oil and the smell of dope anytime.  C'mon Han, waddaya say! Make us all happy.

I wasn't expecting any announcement for FC. They are working on several projects, and although Ugra, a third party was making FC, it might have allocated some personal from 1C to train them and review the work done.

What I do expect is some heavy work under the hood, because all this material is going to catch up with the engine limitations (it has been for years now and it causes lots of attrition with the customer base).

Fix the FC bugs as well, since the module was officialy released.

I’m just thinking timewise, you know. Announcement now would mean final release mid-2021, maybe juuust in time for Bloody April that year (if BA is even next, that is).

Now I’m simply hoping we’ll have the announcement sometime next year, for final release closer to 2022. I just hope we have enough now to keep everyone interested until then, or at least willing to come back.

I had not thought of that, but they can announce it now at Christmas. Or they were not satisfied with the reception of the module. A lot of people criticized, some things got worse than in ROF and visibility is experiencing its worst years in BOX, and for WWI, spatial perception is critical. Putting it all together, we make a lot of noise (most of the time not that off the mark). That's why I'm not expecting much.

But we never know what goes on behind those studio doors. We might be surprised.

Perhaps they're spacing out the releases for commercial reasons?

They could've seen a large overlap in purchasers on BoBp and FC, so focusing on just BoN for early adopters now, and FC2 later, might prevent the 2 titles from competing for the same budget at this time, when people have plenty of other things they need to spend on.

But Vol 2 as an add-on to existing vol1 seems very in-line with the efficient way they're developing the product line, so I'd  still be amazed if there wasn't Vol2  announced in next 2-4 months.

As we don't know the exact criteria that Jason is working to , to come to a conclusion whether or not it justifies making another FC product, I'd say it's pointless speculating.

If it comes I'll be very happy... if not, then I have RoF and WoFF for my WWI fix, and I still enjoy playing both.
