So I deleted a mission, and created a new mission with the same name.

However both are showing up in game, but only the new version is still in the actual missions folder.

In other words I have in game

09.mission

09.mission

Only the first one is actually in the folder still.

I deleted the mtree and ctree cache files.

I've had this problem before - can't remember how I solved it.

So, you stopped the game first, then deleted the cache files, then restarted the game, right?

Are you able to run both missions or only one?

Both

Perhaps try a "File Contents" find for the mission name in your /data/campaigns (I assume) folder and see if it pops up in more than one .eng file.

I remember now when this happened before, the only fix was to re-name my mission and delete both with the same name.

I'll try your idea first - thanks.

I can actually launch the mission, so must be more than a duplicate.eng.

Well, my own bonehead rookie mistake.

I had changed the "save as", but not the name in the mission file.

First thing I should have checked...grrrrrrr

Edit - although still didn’t fix the name problem in game.

Re-deleted c and mtree.caches and all is well.
