Now I have the warthog .... And there is a setting with " afterburner" but as I can see I have no use for it in Il2 GB ........... Or ....?

If you are talking about the detents (afterburner/reheat and idle) then they can be a tactile clue for emergency power.  I use the Cougar (F-16 style) throttle which has 4 detents in total and the upper two correspond to c. 80% and 85% throttle which nicely ties in with the top end of combat power for the 109 and 190, my 2 favoured planes. if I push through the final detent, I know without reference to the techno-chat or manifold dial that I am in emergency power - very useful if I am 'eyes-on' a bandit.

I have both idle/off and afterburner detents in my Warthog throttle, as I use them for the jets in another sim.

But no for strictly IL-2 no real need for them.

If you play with full engine management enabled, this afterburner position is good to know where is military power and emergency power without use that ugly, intrusive "technochat".

For planes like Spitfire, La-5 can program the DX button in afterburner position for enable boost.

But if play with engine aids on and don't play DCS jets, can remove the physical part of detent (reversible operation).

Thanx , I have no need for it at moment , and I fly expert VR so I have no technochat - but my cockpit and I like it this way

I know the idle/off detent generates a DX button, but I did not think the Afterburner detent does?

But I know in the Spit the detent corresponds to where boost would be enabled in the axis movement.
