Brisfit gunner issue ?

Is there an issue if another player jumps into the gunner station and then leaves mid flight ?

I had a player jump into the gunner station, which I'm perfectly happy with, even if he gave me a fright when he started shooting and I thought we'd been bounced ?.  When he got bored, I was on a bombing mission and trying to avoid combat until I'd dropped my bombs, he bugged out, later when I was actually attacked, the A.I rear gunner took ages to realise he was now in charge of his gun station and decide to get up and do something about it.  Yes, I could lock the position, but why stop other people having fun (or trying WW1, without commiting to buy), the problem is less about douche bags ruining the day and more about human/ A.I handover.

Human gunners are pretty buggy at the moment. Besides the new issues with animations (stuttery), visibility (gun getting in the way) and angle reduction (on the Halberstadt), they've also inherited most of the RoF problems, including the one where there's a chance of dying if you join a plane during the take off roll. So we can add the issue you discovered to the pile. In any case, I don't think the devs are making fixes for human gunners a top priority. This is concerning to say the least, especially when we consider how Tank Crew is built on the crew mechanic.

The cherry on top is that the parser doesn't even take anything they do into account. As in: nothing at all.

Maybe we need a separate gunner category?

AI gunners, on the other hand, are a different thing altogether.

Yesterday I flew a sortie with an AI gunner in the Halberstadt, and I witnessed the damn thing bullseye an S.E.5a pilot in the face. From half a mile away. Through the propeller arc. With all respect to Darling and his close dogfighting gunnery skills, having an early warning system which can nail physically impossible shots (the gun is in the way for humans to aim that low) that can also paint ground targets during bombing runs is handy. Very handy, indeed.

So lock your gunner stations and use that AI for all that it's worth, I say. If anything, I'm trying to convince Darling to dust off his MSFFB2 and start flying again. Because if there's one thing better than a two-seater with an AI aimbot, then it's two two-seaters with an AI aimbot. But hey, at least we're not gaming the game.

You missed the obvious chance to suggest he needs a better pilot.

Are you losing your touch?

We had to lock the gunner stations in FC because we had idiots 'humourously' jumping into the gunners seat and shooting your own tail or engines. Just what you need when you've spent twenty boring minutes climbing to altitude.

Only lunatics are trying to shot down Pe2 in ww2 and two-seaters in FC, we all should avoid them and let them do their job,  enjoy the dogfight with fellow scouts pilot and runaway from enemy two-seaters ;)
