If only devs would gives us the control on opening the chute. We could free fall and decide when to open the chute. Next update ? 

I do not know if it is difficult to implement. You cut the scripted automatic sequence in two.

You decide in the parameters Auto or Manual Rip Cord. In Auto you have:

1) jumping out of the plane. Pilot after a few seconds (if the rip cord has not been pulled yet) of roll stabilizes in standard free fall position and goes down until you pull the cord or flatten yourself on the ground.

2) Same chute opening sequence as by now but starting from the free fall position.

 

imagine free falling  through two layers of clouds as you look around and see the ground coming fast etc.
