Simplify the Mission Builder please

A simpler or easier to use mission builder and interface would be nice. Make a mission builder users manual available from the start.

Oh yes, this times one thousand.

Please remember that most of your customers are not programmers.

Ummm...we've always had a ME User's Manual from the start and lessons and others have made videos. There is a learning curve, but it works. A simpler interface for a very powerful app is not so easy, but who knows what is possible in the future.

Hey Jason ;). Just take a look on IL2 FMB or CloD FMB. And than try both, yours and that. If you need an example for an easy FMB: IL2. If you need a look for a more complex one with Scriptings: Look just CloD. Sorry, but they are lightyears better than the one of RoF. RoF is in Community called for the most worst one. Sorry to say.

WWII fighters from Janes, have a far better FMB than IL2, Clod, and all else.

They got triggers, ground movements, and a lot more. The sim wasn't that good, but the mission building was right on spot, and all was made by an user interface. No need to go text editing files. Still, I consider the possibility of text editing as a must for external control of complex campaigns.

One of the worst things to come to il2, was the encription of all coop missions. That must be optional. I learned a lot by editing them on the FMB. The learning curve was much shorter.

The original mission builder in iL2 was not difficult to learn as the abundance of different types of missions online for download indicate.

Ihave been in both the RoF and Clod Mission builders .There are features in all FMB`s that have merrit. The setting up of flight waypoints and tasking was simplest in iL2 & mission could be built quickly. The  RoF FMB in comparison had a much steeper learning curve and setting up of flight or object waypoints and tasking takes conciderably longer but those groups can be copied and saved to use in future missions which is a bonus.

Terrain objects & buildings were incorperated into the map in iL2 & Clod  which is not the case with RoF where they have to be loaded onto an object free map with many then having to be deleted to reduce load times and lag online. This in itself may present problems for missions where flight distances will be grater due to Historical base scenareos.Permanent map fixtures would be a far better option to encourage builders to make missions.I do however like the Rof ability to create triggers, timers ,behaviors etc  without the need to write scripted code but to be able to do both would be a bonus as would simple weighpoint options like in iL2 `s weighpont properties option boxes.

The Terrain features in iL2 were a huge contributor to the immersion of the game & although there were faults in Clod as far as tree collision and ai behavior were concerned,ie trains and tunnels, it was almost there on that count apart from the low level render pauses. The screen shots of the new channel Map for RoF show a great deal of work has gone into the building & terrain detail .I do hope it is not necesary to start deleting objects to get the missions to load either in RoF or BoS.

All the best to the new Team ,hope everthing goes ok.

C# scripting ability please.  The power to interact with methods and events in the game is immense in COD.  It can make a world of difference to the serious multiplayer experience.

For example, our server we use in campaign has a dll on the server side which works with COD to provide the maths required for an entire Fighter Command RDF (radar) system for pilots to vector to enemy.  This was not made by 1C, they provided a decent API for the game and we wrote it.

Yes an nice easy mission builder and interface would be heaven - would be nice to concentrate on building missions/campaigns instead of learning code and script etc..

We need a clean front end UI where we can do everything by clicking on a button!

What i'm trying to say is we need the old IL2 FMB with lots more options/features

I would love to see an editor on par with Arma games. It's integrated, quite easy to use and for advanced stuff supports scripting. And most importantly - you can quickly preview your results. But I also understand that they don't really have the time to rewrite this for the early 2014 release.

Would it be an idea to have a simle interface covering some basics, so that an aspiring mission builder has  slightly less steep curve to climb? The simplified interface could be turned off as the builder gets more experienced, analogue to how "simplified engine management" lowers the learning curve of the sim.
