One request addressed to Team Fusion Simulations

Hi all. I was one of the original owners of the premium collector box, back in 2011. I still possess my collector set, fantastic quality product indeed… but I'm not going back to "Cliffs of Dover", not yet, and not only because of the old bugs from 2011. I don't want to try "Blitz" for the moment, and the main reason is due to... Steam.

 

Please, Team Fusion, withdraw "Cliffs of Dover" from Steam!!

Many of us have asked the same question, many times, it seems for technical reasons the game has to remain on Steam, bummer.

 

I and others have even said we would buy it again if they sold it like the GB series from their own site but it is still a no go sadly.

Kitaro,

 

CLoD use Steam as DLC, so you can't use this game (legally) without have Steam running.

But in any case, Steam will not "eat your computer" if installed.

After years of flight-sim inactivity, I decided to go back to flight simulators a few weeks ago. As I wasn't able to find my TrackIR, I spent the three last weeks using my hat switch when flying on "Rise o Flight" and "Great Battles". I finally found again my TrackIR yesterday… It was in my cellar for the last 5 years… and, miracle, still in good condition...

 

I'm telling you all of this, guys, because I was really absent for years, and only now I'm going back to flight sim games. My question was honestly asked, so thank you, Missionbug, because at least you brought a satisfactory answer to it. Satisfactory dealing with my understanding of the situation, not satisfactory with the fact that I have to deal with Steam again if I want to run my "Cliffs of Dover". Anyway, most probably, I'll install again that pest... and try "Blitz"! Apart from the bugs, "Cliffs of Dover" is, in my opinion, the best WWII flight simulator ever, even in the present day. "Great Battles" is cool, but the cockpits in "Cliffs of Dover" are amazing, the flight model is better by far, the take off procedure is more realistic, etc.

Well, I'm back in the game: Steam installed again, Cliffs BLITZ installed… After a few flights: not happy with some aspects of the simulation (you start a turning maneuver and your head is like a pinball machine, same as in 2011...).

 

In any case, Steam behaves well... for the moment… For all corrections brought to the serious bugs in the game… let's wait and see. I'll keep watching the game's evolution.

Don't use the headshake option.
