Sternjaeger Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I just got home and found this waiting for me, a genuine Revi 16B to add to my collection :-) By far one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen: so compact, well made and effective! Simple but effective German engineering at its finest! 1
oneeyeddog Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Wow is that nice. It looks to be in great condition. Thanks for posting.
johncage Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 yep and pretend you're blowing up people in traffic
Sternjaeger Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 lol well you could learn to calculate distances by using the reticle! I'm actually surprised this technology is not as widespread on cars. I mean yes, we have cars with proper HUDs now, but we're talking about cars on the expensive side.
II./JG27_Rich Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I have this old JG4 squad video of a working Revi.
Kling Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Damn... I was hoping for a photo of a girl in her 20's....
Sternjaeger Posted April 14, 2014 Author Posted April 14, 2014 yep, that's a nice classic video, although it would be nice if they put a better background behind! ;-) I'm in the process of restoring my Revi 12 and I am preparing a base with power connection, so I will be able to display it with the light on as well. I have found some very good LED bulbs to substitute to the originals, so that it can be turned on without overheating. The Revi 16 reticle has a slight difference, the crosshair at the centre is not split, but it's all in one piece. I wonder why they changed it, I think the Revi 12 centre crosshair is better, at least you can see what you're shooting at! And no, no girls in their 20s, Mrs Sternjaeger wouldn't approve... in fact I'm pretty sure she'd hang me by the feet in the garden
