Cannot play in career mode

Up till last Saturday nothing wrong. From Sunday onwards no joy entering career mode. Music is playing, hangar image is shown in the back ground, "please wait"  message on the screen  is shown.  Progress symbol keeps turning  and turning but nothing happens. No error messages are displayed. Scripted campaigns gave me no problems. Nothing changed on te system, only purchased "Achtung Spitfire" on Saturday and flew a few missions.

Any problems with the game not connecting to the Master server or showing other connection issues? It sounds to me like the game is hanging at the point where it's contacting the server for the career missions or something. 

Also any Windows updates in that time? Windows updates have been playing hell with stuff on my system lately.

Hello All , normally i just lurk and dont comment, so have no previous posts, however i have encountered this problem and know how annoying it is ,it appears to be the career data base issue, to resolve  you need to access the  IL2 games main folder , look for the data folder then Career folder , you will see a file CP.db  , Rename or  copy into a ZIP file. Then start restart  the game, it should create a new database file ( at least it did in mine). This is how i got around the problem, but please note you WILL lose your previous careers this way unfortunately. I guessing the database has corrupted between the new version and old version of the game . However when i did this everything started up again  ,also for the record my version is the steam version with main IL2 site additions merged in case thats relevant to some one , hope it helps those as stuck as i was . I would keep the old DB you renamed just in case someone has a better solution to resolve this issue and you can regain the lost careers.
