chiliwili69 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 We have a new extreme clouds in IL-2, but I would like to know other sims or game engines which perform particularly well with volumetric clouds. Here I rescue one russian engine which is awesome. I wish one day we could have that in IL-2. Battlefield I was also impressive:
LLv34_Flanker Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 S! Biggest issues with BoX clouds are planes turning into pixelated mush against them, the funny ring clouds have if looking up on them from below and jagged/pixelated crap seen in the horizon. Otherwise they do their job adequately. Games or sims having better clouds? Flight Simulator 2020 will blow BoX out of the water so far out that it won´t find it´s way back. DCS getting new clouds that look far better and no pixel mush. War Thunder has also no pixel mush nor has CloD. Seen many games with better sky box/clouds than BoX. But as Jason stated we ill have to live with what we have, unlikely to change. They chose this cloud thing and that´s that. I wonder if they ever tested these issues we see before adopting it? 1
chiliwili69 Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 Wow! I didn´t know about FS2020! seems they have done a pretty good job with the volumetric clouds.Take a look: 1
chiliwili69 Posted November 13, 2019 Author Posted November 13, 2019 BTW. They said that they will do their best to support VR !! https://www.roadtovr.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-dev-will-try-darnedest-make-vr-support-happen/ 1
Dutch2 Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 (edited) While for Combatfly sims since 2010 every major step in graphical improvement seems to be on hold, it looks like FS2020 is going to an next level. I did see this movie clip a couple of months ago on another site and it looks very promising, so who knows some combat fly games are getting inspired by this. For VR users to use this, I guess we have to wait for the i12-11990/RTX5080. Edited November 14, 2019 by Dutch2 1
