Question on the difference of brake efficiency

There is a noticeable difference on brake efficiency between some aircrafts. For example:The difference is clear between P51 and Bf109. It also look like (to me) the Dora has better brakes than older 190s and 109s.

My question: does this difference is due to IRL data (germans brakes known to be weaker than american ones?), or it's just because the last modeled aircrafts (BOBP ones) are slightly different from older ones (BOS, BOM, BOK)?

Or may be it's my imagination... but as I said, the difference is obvious between 109 and P51.

Thank you :salute:

Well from what I've read on these forums the brakes are all wrong anyway. Legend has it the brakes used to be (realistically) very strong and lots of people were having problems with nosing over so they changed it.

If this really is the case I really wish they'd bring back the old braking and put the current braking as a difficulty option.

Short answer: yes, German brakes apparently were much worse than British/ American brakes. Eric Brown mentioned this several times in his books, for example in Wings of the Luftwaffe.

I think that it might be a bit more on point now than it was before.  Trust me, you're not going to hold the brakes fully on a P-51's landing roll without digging a ditch with the prop. I'm don't know if planes like the 109 or 190 had brakes able to faceplant the plane like that but, I do find it feasible that they weren't.  Having a setting that universally gives every plane the same amount or much stronger brake strength doesn't sound all that good to me.
