Career mode?

Is there no career mode? Am I missing something? That will be disappointing if it is the case.

I don't think there is going to be a career mode for Flying Circus. At least not for volume 1.

 

I know its a little frustrating but Its what they decided to do. But it doesn't mean it won't come later.

 

Now people can still create missions and scenarios. We could still see a Scripted Campaign for it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone... it is disappointing but I will just have to find some multiplayer servers to play on. Thanks again.

I get it that people want the "official" career mode, but here's my pitch for PWCG anyway.  If you want a career in FC then give it a shot.  I was writing PWCG for RoF years before RoF official career mode came out.  I started in 2009.  I have continued to support PWCG for the last ten years.  

 

I am not a weekend hack,  I am a Principal Software Developer with over 30 years industry experience.  I cut my teeth doing real time on nuclear submarines.  I have since done middleware, large scale telephony, logistics, and more.  I am a back end developer.  What that means for you is that my UI can probably be better but my internal mission algorithms, to put it bluntly, are pretty damned good.  And the UI doesn't completely suck either.

 

I have frequently seen people talk about wanting this that and the other in the official career mode,  all the while refraining from pointing out that PWCG already has it.  

 

It's a free download.  Your choice, but it's there.  Try it.  You might just notice that your pilots actually improve over time, or the fully developed inventory system, or the fact that AI flights move without spawning, or that things happen outside of your mission, or all of the things happening on the ground while you are flying.

Can't recommend PWCG enough.  I don't bother with the official career mode in BoX at all, not when we have PWCG.  Nor in RoF, again PWCG is superior for SP and now it is possible to run Coop campaigns without opening the editor which I had to do in the past for RoF.  

 

The only outstanding issue is Pat needs a bit of time to update it for the new objects like balloons released yesterday and he said he will work on that next so download PWCG and enjoy!
