Hi,

I intend to change the hardware system. I have already choose a configuration. After the purchase, which is the procedure that I have to follow in order to be able to play the game again?

if you have IL2-GB on a separate partition or drive from your new windows install, just update your shortcuts.  The game install is fungible and doesn't appear to rely on registry settings that would require a re-install.

You might need to run the DirecX installer from game directory(redist?) too before running game.

I installed a 2TB NMVe drive two days ago and I just copied the whole folder from one drive to the other. Both, BOS and DCS work just fine.

Sorry! I intend to change my computer, not only the hard disk. Buy a new one desktop system.

If you keep the same windows version and cpu from the same manufacture, you could be ok with just a copy and paste.  After testing the new SSD in the old PC that i have in my signature, on Windows 7, It all worked perfectly with just a copy and paste.

Yesterday i got the rest of the parts for the pc upgrade and installed everything on windows 10pro 64 bit. I hooked that whole ssd and tried the game again. It updated everything but ran like crap, so i just deleted everything and I'm in the process of installing the game again. I just saved the skins, because the windows7 controls profiles don't work in windows 10.

 

Everything works great so far, but i have to reinstall all games, because of new windows version and switching to AMD for the CPU.

 

If you stay in the same windows version and cpu manufature, you could copy the whole game folder on a flash drive and then move it on the new computer, so you don't have to download everything again. Or at least you can copy the controls, users and skins.

I am purchasing a second desktop PC and obviously want to play IL-2 Sturmovik.

- which is the best hardware configuration (CPU, RAM, Video card, monitor etc.) ?

I point out that the maximum budget available to me can be around euro 1500.

- Video card: PNY RTX 2060 Super dual Fan XLR 8Gb Gaming

- RAM: Ballistic Crucial 8Gb 3000MHZ DDR4 Cl16 (32Gb)

- HD: ADATA SSD 1 TB SATA NAND

Sounds good, for that budget you should be able to get RTX 2070/2080 super and  3200mgz cas 14 ram and a smaller M2 ssd for the O/S, nicely balanced then ?

 

The resolution that you will be using on the monitor has a bit of relevance.. For 1080p RTX2060 would be fine

With the new map and graphics choices, is BOX now a 16GB RAM game and not an 8GB RAM game?
