Confused_2018 Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) I just saw a vid on youtube where the poster had trouble playing Max Payne. No idea what the issue is. But seems some old games do not work with Ryzen? The reason I am curious is that I plan to build a new system next year, and was thinking Ryzen, but if the game wont work, there is no point. I wonder if someone with a Ryzen 3000 system is able to get this version of the game to work. Would anyone be willing to try? Thanks. Edited November 4, 2019 by Confused_2018
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) In general, Windows software should be compatible with newer CPUs (backward compatibility is one of the most important principles of this computer family). That said, some games were programmed with weird things that cause problems on certain hardware. I've never heard of problems with Ryzen and 1946, so you should be safe. I think I've seen videos of people playing the game with Ryzen systems in the description. Edited November 4, 2019 by Mitthrawnuruodo
Confused_2018 Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 Thank you for the reply. I found it odd myself, but, thought it best to ask. I've seen vids on youtube of ppl playing BoS on Ryzen. Results looked good, but unless I missed it, I have not seen 1946 on a new Ryzen chip.
