Pheo Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Interestingly, the line markings on the wings (ie. 20 / 35 / 50 / 70 / 110) of the "FIGHTING LADY" skin are not just for show. They were used as a guide to estimate distance / timing for ground attack maneuvers (like the markings on the 1943 IL-2). Details can be found in the "Air Forces Manual No.64 - Fighter Gunnery Rocket Firing Dive Bombing" apparently. Requiem has a very interesting guide on how they were used (the video description also has a link to a .psd with accurate line markings): https://youtu.be/qKqe0HNYqmU Looking at photos of other planes with said markings, it appears that the markings on "FIGHTING LADY" skin are a little off (eg. 35 line should cross the middle gun): Anyway, not trying to be pedantic here anything, just pointing out as I was specifically looking for historical skins with accurate wing line markings to try out the technique shown in the video ? 1
