Turret control

Hi all, 

 

I'm trying to set the mini mouse stick on my virpil throttle to control the turret on my aircraft to replace my mouse control when I've taken control of the turret and have leaned into the gun sight. Unfortunately I've deleted the original mouse control and can remember where it is in the control menu and which text item it is. 

 

So when I now take control of the turret and lean into the turret gun sight I can't get the gun to move around.

 

Can anybody remind me where this control resides in the list.

 I believe that is called "bow pilot head vertically" and "bow pilot head horizontally" the second one may have slightly different name, bit it's the option below the first.

Actually SAG, apologies....you are correct! but it doesn't work with my virpil mini stick. I can get to look around without holding the gun but as soon as the gun is used I have to resort to the mouse! Weird!!!

Hmmm?

It moves the gun after you have taken over control of it with the key 'Take/leave gun control'.

Hmm, this is good to know. I gave up on trying to get the ministick on my X-56 to do this so just use a track-ball mouse now.

 

I'll give it another go using those inputs. ?

thanks Yogi but that is what I'm saying, as soon as I take control of the gun it no longer moves using my Virpil Throttle mini stick as a mouse.

Sorry, I should have reread your original post, which made that clear. My guess is, when you use your mini stick for looking around, you can't use it for controlling the gun, too. That makes absolutely sense, because you can turn your head away from the gunsight, to look around, when you are in gunsight view. You need two different keys/axis for that. The default way is looking around with headtracking and moving the guns with mouse or mini stick. But when you set both, head movement and gun movement on one axis, the game will take the higher priority setting, which is the head movement.

maybe it's that you need two different controls for actually moving the gun like "move gun-sight horizontally" or whatever, i don't quite remember as turrets and tanks are unusable in VR, so i never get to use them.

I'll just live with head on trak IR and turret on mouse, the virpil mini stick is great when set to external view camera movment though and the throttle is absolutely unbelievebly good!
