Please walk me through downloading and running CLoD!

I just bought CLoD Blitz and have had no (zero, nada, nyet, non) luck getting it to run.  I already have Steam on my PC (which runs BAT/IL-2 GB/DCS in VR just fine) but after activating Blitz and downloading it, it refuses to run at all; I just get a momentary opening screen "Cliffs of Dover" then a black screen, then back to desk top.  Error messages when I check the Event Log.  Nothing in the log file.

 

I've tried every suggestion on this forum with no results.

 

Only thing I can think of is that my "documents" system folder is not on my C drive, I moved it to my D drive (both are 1TB SSDs).  I'm also running two screens, and have a TMWH stick, throttle, TPR rudders, and a EdTracker Pro wireless hooked up.

 

ANY suggestions are welcome - meanwhile I'm back to playing on BAT, just because...

Documents folder outside of C:\ don't matter, mine is in D:\ and ZERO issue for run CloD, since 2011. 

 

You need inform what is your PC configuration, what programs are running - like the "more hinder than help" anti-malware, av e cia.

CloD don't like of overlay programs like the ones installed by VGA and/or MB drivers packages.

Better to keep all your threads in one location.

 

One point you mentioned... you are running multiple screens.  The program which allows that may stop the game from launching.

 

See this thread:

 

What is the program you use for multiple screens?  Is it 32 bit?

 

Can you try a launch with just the single screen?  Then start up the multiple screen program.

Hi Buzzsaw,

 

Yes, I'll keep to the main thread from now on.  As far as multiple screens, all I am doing is extending my desktop across two monitors via the Windows desktop DISPLAY SETTINGS options, no special programs.  So I am not trying to run the game on two screens simultaneously.  I did see that topic, and tried deactivating my  second monitor, but it made no difference.  As it is setup, any game I run just opens on the primary screen and does not show up on the extended secondary - where I keep Opentrack and EdTracker windows open if needed.

 

When I reload everything if CloD still doesn't work I'll try that path again.

Hi Buzzsaw and Sokol1,

 

Got Blitz up and running finally, with the benefit that it is now at 4.57; after fully removing Steam from my PC and reinstalling it and Blitz, I had to go into Windows Defender and bypass the entire Steam folder (installed on my D:\ SSD) and set my Documents folder to allow write, then Blitz started working...

 

Again, thanks for bearing with my whining; I'm looking forward to flying in Blitz and waiting for 5.0 to drop (I really want Spit Vs, 109Fs, and Martlets!).
