JG1_Wittmann Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 I have a 4k 32" monitor. I run it at 3840 X 2160 I believe, I have same res selected in my settings for IL2BOS, and I find it very difficult to spot aircraft at anything other than very close range. Has anyone else experienced this ? Would it be better to run this game at 1080P while flying ?
greywulf Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 It totally depends on your system (video card, cpu, memory, monitor etc.) Usually flight sims should be toned down from 3840x2160 unless you have a good set up. Just to ask if it will work on a 4k monitor @ 3840x2160 without the other information is really a shot in the dark with no real answer possible.

JG1_Wittmann Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 Thnx Riksen, I thought I'd give it a shot, made a world of difference in spotting AC at any kind of distance not on top of you. It's too bad that the ability to run at 4K and spot AC at a distance is so poor, or nearly impossible for so many I watched someone do a video showing this problem in DCS, and it's the same, the distance at 2 K/1440P res is like 1/3 of what you can spot a plane/pixel at.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Enough big screen , I use 34 inch @3440x1440 and can spot contacts fine.

Yeah. I'm also in a 4k TV (65') and it gets better when I decrease the resolution to 1080p instead. Some have better luck and keep the native resolution but, atleast for me, if I do so, it makes it considerably harder to spot.

That's 2K resolution, not 4, correct ? I can sometimes spot, but have definitely noticed a big improvement in spotting at longer distances at 1080 P
