[UFO]MachineHead Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 The problem persists here, no sign of change. I can't login. Man...that's weird.
Dallas88B Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 Using Launcher.exe still gets "failed to update" Deleted update folder ... no difference. Can start game from IL-2.exe and login OK Using restarter.exe starts game OK too and I can login.
RedKestrel Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 I checked last night, no issues with the launcher for me. Maybe the launcher is looking at the wrong address for the server? But why would this have changed for so many people without an update? Maybe there was a windows change and the Launcher is blocked from accessing the internet, but the game is not?
icecream Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 Had this yesterday as well.. deleted updates folder worked, but appeared again later. today it seems to work again. looking in the update log, there seems to be something wrong with the adress not connecting? 1
Grancesc Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 FAILED TO UPDATE. Since yesterday evening the simulation doesn't start. Obviously many have the same problem. Has anyone sent a ticket to technical support so that they know about the error?

Has anyone sent a ticket to technical support so that they know about the error? Does going through the Il2sturmovik.exe or the Restarter rather than the launcher work for you at all? For many people it seems to work but a few continue to have issues.

[UFO]MachineHead Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 The problem is gone. Tried to login and....it went ok! I'm in! But I don't know what happened. I just waited.
Dallas88B Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 Mine is working again too. I made no changes. Clearly problem is (was?) at Server side.
egyadelzakhary Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 what kind of game is this that you cant update the standalone version ????

What do you mean standalone version? if you have Battle of Stalingrad you get all the updates applied to your game at the same time as everyone else...you just don't get the new planes or map. This is just a weird server bug that solved itself.

This is just a weird server bug that solved itself. I do have BoS, BoK, and the Kuban campaign. The standalone version is the one that is downloaded from the profile section of the il2 website. This installs just fine then at the run, says checking for updates, then later failed to update. I erased the updates folder in the root installation folder and rebooted to no avail. That is my point.. Should I migrate it to steam instead?
