taffy2jeffmorgan Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Hi All. I know that a lot of you have said that you could never fly without TrakIR, so I'm treating myself. I understand that the device will come with its own software for the on screen setup. So what happens to the cockpit views that I have assigned to my joystick hat switch, do i set everything back to default? or does TrakIR over ride all settings, I thought there my be some conflict with keys selected? What has made my mind up regards TrakiR is the people that have posted in game videos, showing how smooth and extensive the movement is. I would also be grateful of any tips regards Trakir, Cheers. JM.
HagarTheHorrible Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 It'll seem a little odd at first, but within a couple of weeks, if that long, you'll wonder how you ever played without it. Setting up is easy, I think BoS/RoF recognise it automatically other games like CLOD and DCS I think you have to click a button in the UI. Just leave your other view settings as they are for now, they shouldn't interfere and once you've got comfortable using TrackIR you can delete them and use the controller hat for other things. Curves for how quickly the various axis's move can be tricky to get right to start with so I would scrounge other peoples profiles, try them, examine them, play around, adjusting the curves to suit your style. SYN_requiem's post pinned at the top of the General section is a good place to start for a profile. No pun intended, but you'll never look back once you start using TrackIR.
pilotpierre Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Dont buggerise around with trying to set up a profile, as Hagar said, download Requiems. After a couple of hours you you wont be able to fly a sim ever again without using TiR, I kid you not..
Panzerlang Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I tried Requiem's profile and found it extremely fast. Being used to the default profile I found it too fast but I guess if somebody uses it from the very start they'll find it ok.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks Boys, Good info as usual, looking at your locations, that was feed back from the Commonwealth, me an ex Brit [Welsh] not sure about Pierre, two Englishman and a Scotsman. SeriousFox Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I have a question about Requiem's profile. When I look back, all of the movement (like look left/right, lean forward) is inverted. How can I fix this??
ST_Pirato Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) Try to enable the Trueview option in the Software,if it's already enabled, disable it and see if the problem is solved. Edit: In the TrackIR Software of course. Edited April 8, 2014 by ST_Pirato 2
germanicusbradleydog62 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Hola Extreme One..which commands did you use for zoom out zoom in? CoD easy to set up and works very well with button e and d of x52 pro..easy to control speed of camera too. Pilot Head zoom in goes up not forward with BoS commands. I use mouse instead but prefer buttons. Was about to try camera commands again. Thanks in advance.
