Enceladus828 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Thanks Luke. I’m sure this is a dream come true for many shipwreck hunters. Hope they also find the other Japanese Carriers lost at Midway
1CGS LukeFF Posted October 19, 2019 Author 1CGS Posted October 19, 2019 What's neat is that the authors of Shattered Sword talk about the discovery of pieces of the wreckage in the 90s(?), but it was a mystery since then where the rest of the wreckage was. This now completes the story. 1

1CGS LukeFF Posted October 21, 2019 Author 1CGS Posted October 21, 2019 And now it's believed that either the Soryu or Akagi has been found: https://www.foxnews.com/science/warship-wwii-battle-of-midway-pearl-harbor-second-japanese-carrier 1
Guest deleted@83466 Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) I recall seeing a sketch from some guy, maybe included in Shattered Sword, about what the Kaga looked like before it sank. Looked basically burned and melted down to the water line, or at least to the floor of the lower hangar deck, along most of the length of the hull, . Edited October 21, 2019 by SeaSerpent
Oyster_KAI Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 Akagi have found!!https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/oct/21/humbling-wreckage-of-japanese-ships-from-battle-of-midway-found-in-pacific 1
