Newbie help request: How to enable selection of the new BOBP planes?

Gents, I've just started tweaking various mission files in the editor. I've managed to place additional AI airplanes, change plane properties, place additional objects and change map settings, etc.

What I would like to do is enable all planes available for player selection on a MP/Co-op shoot'em up mission, but I can't find the parameters for available spawn planes. On a typical MP mission template, what am I looking for?

Help appreciated! The mission file I'm trying to enable all planes for player selection I've attached here.

Regards

I *think* it has to be a "fakefield_rnwspawn" that you place onto the map from the "airfields" drop-down menu (top right corner of the editor, where the MCUs are with other stuff).

Once that fakefield is on the map, right-click the map to get the menu-window, select properties, that gives you the properties box that applies to whatever icon you've got currently selected. In the fakefield_rnwspawn's case the property box has a tab in it, "planes". Click that, another window allows you to add player-spawnable/flyable planes.

Once it's on the map, create a linked entity for it, then...

You mean *make* it into a linked entity (click the button for that in its properties box). :)

Sorry gents, this is all going way above my head. so far I've only figured out how to modify the basics of already made mission files.

I've attached an image of what I'm looking at on my screen. I'd like to know how I modify the available planes for spawn. It's a multiplayer mission I downloaded from a server. Currently it can spawn all the planes but the BOBP planes. I have already changed the AI planes into BOBP planes, but I don't know how to make the BOBP planes available for player selection.

Hope this makes sense.

Zoom right in on an airfield until you can see all the icons individually. Find the one that includes the airfield's name AND has a yellow line coming from it (that's its orientation line that can be rotated via the red square in its corner (left-mouse click & hold, move mouse around).

Left click that icon to select it, look at the properties box for it (or right click the map and choose "properties" to get the icon's properties box to appear). In the box you'll see a "planes" button. Click it. :)

Make sure your mouse-cursor is standard, not in place-object mode. If you've just clicked an item from the "airfield" menu at top right you'll place an airfield on the map if you then left-click on it. Hit "esc" to clear your cursor back to standard.

You'll have to do that for each airfield you wish to modify.

Thanks heaps! Exactly the instructions I was hoping for. I’ll give this a go later. One thing though- these are all air-spawns, there are no ‘airfields’ so to speak. Don’t know how this makes things different.

I’ve also noticed there’s a problem with my editor GUI scaling- I can’t scroll down to see/select the bottom most selectable items in the editor lists. A picture later would probably help demonstrate what I mean, but any ideas how to fix this?

Regards

Can't help with your GUI problem but I think it's a resolution issue and you can change the rez in a config file in the game, to one suited to your monitor. I think.

Video link on its way to show you how to add the planes to existing airfields (fake airfields for airstarts).

You're a star, thanks a lot bud!

Ok, it works, here's the vid. You can also delete planes from that list. You'll have to do what's in the vid to each airfield you want to add/delete planes at.

Excuse the invisible mouse-cursor, I've no idea why shadow-play loses it.

You'll have to wait for the video to go high-rez, youtube's servers are slow processing stuff these days.

Mate that is a fantastic wallpaper you’ve got there. Where can I grab one of those?

Surprised to hear the “ただいま” as she walked through the door, haha. Very familiar!
