The pack is a mixing of November 1944 pattern and Early 1945 (February pattern)

Even if each painter had reproduced he's own type of Diamonds on his plane, I have chosen to represent only One type of drawing.

Same for for the shade of aluminum

1st fully ready skin

"DODO" QI * B  - Lieutenant Clinton D. Burdick - 361th FS - 7 victories - January 1945

These are looking great I cant wait to fly these beautiful birds. I was wondering if I could make a request though? I was wanting this specific bird replicated as this is what I am basing my persona off of.

Hi Kyle422,  Do you have more document on that plane ?

The only documents I have found are this and the picture above http://www.americanairmuseum.com/aircraft/19315

That the plane had The Brunette Bunny painted only on the right side of the plane and had no kill markings

Ok ? I will do my best !!!

With historical skins, as much documents you have, as better it is ............> example with the third ready skin of the pack :

QI*T "JERSEY JERK" of Major Donald J. Strait from 361st FS - Ace of the group with 13 victories at the end of the war ...on my skin, 10 victories because shown at the end of 1944.

1/ If you have time pictures and much better color picture and close around picture, it is, of course much better

jwzg5dqdvd7vkpgzg.jpg?size_id=4

73bvox0ruhxgq0wzg.jpg?size_id=8

2/ So, you can make a  close to real skin (at last, as close as possible):

I wasn't aware that they changed the pattern. The 356th is a unit that you don't hear much about. They were one of the last 8th Air Force groups to convert to  Mustangs. They flew their P-47's until November of '44. I find it interesting that their Jugs were the plainest P-47's in the 8th. They had NO nose colors, for some reason. All of their P-47's were olive drab from nose to tail. Yet, when they finally got their P-51's they had just about the most colorfully painted fighters in England!

Those skins are nice. I'll be grabbing them.

Here is the last one that will complete the first volume of skins !!!!

I based my wotk on VERY FEW documents but I did my best ...........Originally,  I did not plan to do this skin, since I had much more material for other skins but [356thFG]Kyle422 has been persuasive !!!:salute:

I made a mix between the original photo of the machine (the only available on books and net !!!??) and the profile (always subject to possible mistakes)

4ncl2nasadcx7l5zg.jpg

qags6nqw5he3c0zzg.jpg

Anyway, I does not followed the original photography with the camouflaged US Stars and let my skin with clean US Stars. But I made a special edition with Camouflaged Stars (if any one wants it ?)

0meaw6ufkypgdydzg.jpg?size_id=b

7m8q3yvokieiodhzg.jpg?size_id=c

As no documents are available for left side of the plane, had to imagine a little bit the possibilities of markings

Also the serial number on tail, as shown on the profile seems to be wrong. I cannot imagine the 073 on one side and 415 only on other side. So I have chosen to represent a classic serial number on each side...

That's all at the moment. 1st Volume will be ready during the next evening.

Looking forward to downloading this skin pack. How do you know what font to use for the nose art lettering?

Hand painting......................?

I mean in the photoedtiing software.

Sorry, AKA, I do not understand really.

I made a first very simple painting and worked step by step then after. All under photoshop.

As, on profile and original photograpjy, a part of lettering is not visible, the only way was "hand painting".

For this new skin, I had some good documents such as whose provided by @[356thFG]Kyle422

pi-w3.jpg

or

pi-w4.jpg

As you can see, some variations between those planes " D-Day markings", lettering, name of the pilot etc....

Finaly, I chose that picture to represent the PI*W of Captain John W. "Wild Bill" Crump from 360th FS
