Alt-F9 to trigger manual record. "Hmm" thinks I, "I'll assign a joystick key...oh, it doesn't recognize the input. No biggie, I'll switch the input from alt-F9 to Spacebar...oh, it won't allow it. Or any change at all."

And it's been out how long?

Whatever key assignments I want to work with shadowplay are no problem. There's a slight issue with my joystick programming software, but that's a problem well known for any key presses that involve a modifier with the X52 and X55 programming software.

Shadowplay works great, and is amazing. FRAPs cuts framerate in half, Shadowplay does exactly as it's title implies - it runs in the shadows without any peformance impact.

I've tried mapping the spacebar to my warthog stick using the TARGET software and it made my PC go nuts. I suddenly had other controllers doing weird stuff, Skype went belly-up and the keyboard opened stuff with seemingly random keystrokes. Plus the mapping didn't work properly anyway. Weird thing is that when I first tried it some months ago it seemed to work perfectly, I just didn't like the idea of the script running in the background waiting to go squiffy and crashing my game in the middle of a kill.

As for all of it being wank, of course it's not. I guess. But it is pretty wank that an actual gaming hardware company didn't think to provide controller inputs via direct-x. Or a provision to change keyboard inputs. Who the bloody hell wants to be searching for alt-F9 in the middle of a fire-fight or whatever? Just plain DUMBASS of Nvidia. Or lazy.

Or me, if the provision exists and I'm doing something wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Or the last.

The key inputs work just fine, I've changed it from the default to ctrl-2 to just the 9 on the keyboard (not the numpad). My stick software is having issues relaying that information. That requires more delving into. Can't blame that on Shadowplay though, it's working as it should.

When I tried the box displayed "none". The off button worked ok fortunately.

I agree, it's amazing. I never record anything, whether it be through in-game recording or FRAPs. But with Shadowplay, I might actually start recording things to bore the hell out of anyone that would dare click on my virtual air combat moments. It's so flawless, has zero performance impact when going straight to SSD, and records not just video but sound as well. It is actually the first time I've ever considered recording in-game footage.

No games can be running when you modify or set controls, maybe you have another program directory added in shadowplay consfusing it and thinking something is running so it won't allow you to modify controls?

Nope. I had skype running and have just tried with it turned off and still get "none" in the box.
