Gamekeeper Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I'm still optimistic about the future for WWII flight sims and welcome the union of 777 & 1C. What we will do with Airwarfare re relevance of IL-2 COD material will be decided as BOS is developed, do we have even have a function? Only time will tell.
CrazySchmidt Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 This will be the beginning of a new chapter for you GK, I'm sure of it. CS.

CrazySchmidt Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Hi there Bearcat, long time no talk. How's things have you been keeping up with it all since CoD?
Beebop Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) Best wishes for a successful venture. There can never be enough IL-2. Edited December 14, 2012 by Beebop
Bearcat Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Hey GK when will you open up a 1C777 board on M4T?
Bearcat Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Hi there Bearcat, long time no talk. How's things have you been keeping up with it all since CoD? Hi CS.. Well I was just able to get CoD running .. I upgraded in September.. I still haven't flown it much.. but at least I can now. I have to tweak some settings.. but to tell you the truth I still have a great time with IL2. If BoS can have that kind of staying power I'll be a happy camper. I hope that some day the CoD engine will be readdressed and expanded to multiple fronts but I wonder just how much modders doing it for free will be able to put into it when developers doing it for a living had such difficulties. Frankly I think the problem with it is that it is just too powerful. I think that as PCs get even better it will come into it's own more. I think that's one reason why they chose the use the DN engine for this.. and AZ said as much in the FAQ and in that SHQ interview.. The future looks brighter for sure. I am just glad at this point that the genre seems to actually be moving away from the grave instead of towards it. I seem to recall some articles a few years back suggesting that the genre was on it's way out. Hey CS perhaps you could offer some insight or suggestions for a mission builder to Jason & crew.. I always and still do think that MM was a great piece of SW.. It is still to this day even with the improvements to the QMB (I don't think it is compatible anymore after 4.11 is it..? ) a more versatile tool options and features wise than the stock QMB.
CrazySchmidt Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Hi BC, unfortunately CoD just didn't work for me for a number of reasons. I've been playing RoF for sometime now and was pleasantly surprised at just how nice the game looks and feels, the only thing is there are no WWII aircraft. Once those get in there I'll be a happy chappy indeed. MM was a lot of fun for me at the time when IL-2 was at it's height, but eventually once the mods came into it, it became very difficult to keep up with all the changes. I was able to keep up with it for a while but eventually I tired of the whole thing and felt that it was time to put it in the shed and retire it. Nice to see you operating here as a moderator, I know you'll do a good job of it. See ya around. Cheers, CS.
