What parameters effect this, currently I have several bombers at 6k but none of them are emitting a contrail, how can I change this?

What is the temperature ?

Figured it out, just needed a lower temperature.

Careful - contrails have a nonsensically high effect on FPS, even at a distance.

I tested with a group of 20 B-25’s.

Is it possible to change contrail altitude other than with temperature? I’m already down to -12 in my mission, pretty cold and worried about over-cooling engines and stuff.

I suppose you mean -12C and not -12F. Then at what altitude ?

Contrails appear in general over 8'000mt and temperatures should around -40C or lower.

At 10'000mt you may have temperatures of -50C and -60C

Well, I mean -12 in the edit window, I had assumed that was C not F since it defaults to +15, which is pretty cold in F... I could be very wrong though I had never considered it!

In the editor, it's in Celsius, not in Farenheit.

Learned something again here LoL; thought it was a trail for the police to follow a con (-man).

What effect did such a low Atm pressure have??

the lowest atmopheric pressure ever recorded was about 650 mmhg... in a typhoon

I am not sure if there is an atmosphere management system. At least it doesn't seem so. It is very basic. All parameters are independent. I am not sure that Temp and Pressure have any impact. More testing needed here. Altitude is considered as with altitude the climb speed of the airplanes does change.

Temperature and pressure combination should be used because they have a direct consequence on air density which has a direct effect on atmospheric piston engines power, and on the lift factor of the wings. It is the same with altitude, the higher you go the less atmospheric pressure you have and less dense is the air, and the colder the air becomes.

But at a given set altitude the colder the air the denser it is.

So you can see that Temperature, Pressure, Altitude impact flight and engine characteristics in a combined way not always easy to set.

Pressure, Temperature Moisture and Wind will also generate interesting phenomena like rain, snow, fog etc...
