VR_Dogfighter Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but I am finding it's not possible to look straight up causing a blind spot in two of the new alied planes when using head tracking with opentrack. All other planes allow unhindered, all round view just fine. Full view is possible in the new planes using the mouse. Is this a bug to report or intentional for some reason?
56RAF_Roblex Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) I have not noticed an issue with the Tempest .If you could post a video it would help. Also, what headtracking? TrackIR is a bit dodgy looking straight up on *all* planes but EDTracker should be fine. Edited October 13, 2019 by 56RAF_Roblex

With a mouse and VR I can look directly up (leaning back with the latter of course). When using headtracking though.. the most I can look up I guess is between 45 and 60 degrees. EDIT Here's a video showing max vertical view I'm seeing with Edtracker and various pilot head positions. Situation is the same with cannopy open and closed. A20 seems even worse. 56RAF_Roblex Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) Using EDTracker with Opentrack I don't have any problem. In both the P38 & Tempest, tilting my head back stops just before the headrest comes into view and turning my head slightly allows me to glimpse part of it. It must be a problem in your EDTracker or Opentrack settings. Edited October 13, 2019 by 56RAF_Roblex
VR_Dogfighter Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) Many thanks for checking with yours.. I wonder, do you have relative view turned on? I think that's what it's called without being in front of my PC. I know mine is on and set with a 5cm distance from pivot point. Edited October 13, 2019 by Nake350
No_85_Gramps Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 In your mapping properties for pitch, what is the output setting? If it isn't 180 then try that.

Images below show what view i'm getting even with 180° input...Real strange??
No_85_Gramps Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 In your freetrack output settings what interface are you using? Try enabling both.

No_85_Gramps Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Okay. I'm at a loss right now. I wonder if may have something to do with the snap view settings for those planes?

I've always had a problem with it stopping responding to 'reset view' and other hotkeys after short period of gameplay with IL-2. Works fine with other sims though.
