chris455 Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Gents, Is there a key binding to manually place the P-51s supercharger in Hi Blower? SHF+S will take you from "auto" to stage 1, but there seems to be no key to shift up from there to stage 2. What am I overlooking? Also, does the carburetor air (ram/filtered) lever on the left side of the pit do anything? Is there a key to actuate it? Thanks in advance for any help-
ZachariasX Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Not that I know. But there should be no benefit going to second stage before the automatic system does it. You‘d just risk engine power surge for no benefit, you shouldn‘t go higher than permitted MAP. Or is that your aim? There are two instances to use the second stage switch, one is ground check (to see if you can activate second stage) and the other is mechanical failure of the governing aneroid. Both cases do not apply for this game.

chris455 Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) Guys, thanks for the replies. No, wasnt my imtention to ground boost. Just wanted to see how close to reality our friends in the design studio took things with this particular aircraft. My thanks for the quick responses! Edited October 12, 2019 by chris455
=362nd_FS=RoflSeal Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 The HIGH selection for the supercharger is for ground testing only and the switch is spring loaded in that position, i.e. You have to keep the switch pressed otherwise it will move to LOW once your finger is removed. LOW selection is for being able to be in a better fuel economy regime at higher altitudes. 1
BMA_FlyingShark Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 I asked the same thing 2 weeks ago. Maybe this clears out things for you a bit. There's actually another topic with the same question too. Have a nice day.
