Mission objectives for Single Player Mission?

Recommended Posts

Spend the last few days building, testing, learning the mechanics to create single layer missions. Created one i am satisfied with, but left my with the problem how to "end" the mission.

More specific the mission is a "take off > destroy X > land" type mission.

How do i define mission objects to show a positive/negtive result after landing?

Once you have a plane set up, place a Translator: Mission Objective. Double click it and set its settings the way you prefer. I suggest place it right next to your plane for this.

Next, right click right on your plane, and you should see a little menu pop up. Move your cursor over the "Selected Object Menu". You should see some options.

Look for the "Add OnPlaneLanded Event" option and click it. Then click on the Translator: Mission Objective MCU. A purple line should appear between the MCU and the plane.

If you want to set it up so you only complete a mission after you pass a way-point, then land safely, follow these steps.

Set up your planes way-point. Then place a Trigger: Activate MCU next to the way-point. Then click the way-point MCU and target link it to the activate MCU.

Then target link the activate MCU to the mission objective MCU. So now, you fly to the way-point, it activates the mission objective, then when you land, that will trigger the objective MCU, and you will get mission successful.

Thank you for your answer, got that solution in the meantime over building a campaign.

Have to do more test on this, i am not sure if other inputs, like from a counter, trigger Mission Objective.

Had a mission with 3 ground units that needed to be destroyed (confirmed in briefing screen), all 3 with "onKilled" Event, triggering on counter, counter triggers MissionObjective, but MissionObjective seemed to not have been triggered.
