For a Lanc you can go here: https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/ for a tour of a static and being rebuild Halifax you can go here: http://yorkshireairmuseum.org/ i've done the latter, she's lovely and they're still putting a lot of work into her, but damn, you feel nekid in there, the skin is so thin, there's absolutely nothing to stop bullets in that thing! how they flew those planes from yorkshire all the way into germany, bombed things and got home, honestly i'll never know, let alone how they got off the runway with their massive testicles. very humbling experience, i highly recommend it. Yorkshire air museum also have a Dakota, they fire up the engines occasionally and you can go inside the rear section too, they do talks etc.

II./SG.1-MarkWilhelmsson Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) I've noticed recently that pretty much every death I've had in the A8 is from an instant PK on my end. Doesn't matter what's hitting me, Russian, US, British; and it almost seems like it doesn't matter the range. How different is the pilot hitbox between different planes? Last time I was hit in the D9 I was absolutely hosed with .50BMG and my pilot never got hit. Also, does armour playing in the cockpit actually work? Even when I've taken the extra armour it has made zero difference. Edited October 13, 2019 by III./JG7-MarkWilhelmsson 2

This isn't a personal insult, seriously, he's just pointing out you're whining and making it up as you go along which if you re-read the entire thread it does appear that you're doing so from a casual observer. again i refer to thinking about the point you wish to make before posting. a personal insult is directed at your character, personality, or individual traits. unless you accept that Whining is a trait of yours? in which case yes, that would constitute a personal insult from DD_Arthur. So if somebody insult me And I take it: Its an insult. If I not take it: its not an insult. Okey. [edited] Edited October 14, 2019 by SYN_Haashashin Language

The extra armor for the pilot of the A8, are armor plates on the sides of the fuselage plus the small triangle windows left and right of the front window. No additional armor to the rear, but against side gunners of B17s and B24.

Yep, that is the ground attack version (Schlachtflugzeug) F-8/G-8. But don't forget the rear armor for the pilot, especially for his head, was pretty small. If your attacker wasn't shooting exactly from your six, but a bit to the left or right, the bullets could have passed the armor on the side and still hit the pilot. Also in turnfights he might hit your pilot's head with a deflection shot over the armor. Sometimes it is just good or bad luck.

It is almost a 100% occurance that it happens when they are directly on my six. Usually when I'm diving away from the threat. When they are not on my six I am very good at using my roll and ever so slight pitch changes to make them miss; but once they are right on my six and I'm trying to just do small aileron rolls while diving and extending away to keep them from landing hits, it's almost guaranteed my pilot gets killed.

[edited] I'm not really sure what you're saying here but i was merely pointing out that what you took for personal insults were not in fact personal insults. unless of course you identify with being a whiner, which as i say would mean it was a personal insult. I really can't spell this out any more for you.
