56RAF_Roblex Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 I have heard rumours that the Tempest loses its Right wing too easily and that it seems to happen in a specific speed range of approx 340mph to 280mph rather than just 'Anything Over 340 MPH'. It sounded unlikely but last night I experienced that very thing and had it on video. In the following video you can see me dive bomb a target at 440 MPH without problems as long as I was gentle pulling out. Then you see me attack at about 360 and despite two bad AA hits to the LEFT wing which cause the Left wing to bend as I pulled out, my undamaged RIGHT wing snaps (and my damaged & bent left wing stays in place). Just after that a squadmate also loses his RIGHT wing pulling out at about 360 MPH. It sounds crazy but is there any chance that the designers accidentally made one wing weaker than the other?

It just seemed odd to me that I heard people saying it always seem to be the right wing (which can be pure folklore) then my left wing was badly damaged and still it was my Right wing that failed.
