Didn't tried yet. Marginal change at best, the power to weight on this thing is amazing, and the prop is more efficient at slower speeds, so it has amazing sustain turn and acceleration. Also, it has respectable wing area to back it all up. Edited November 8, 2019 by Cpt_Siddy
Blackhawk_FR Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 So Tempest is still a better "low speed dogfighter" than 109s and 190s. Definitly the Luftwaffe's nightmare

Definitly the Luftwaffe's nightmare Asthmatic ant in a wheelchair is better low speed fighter than 190's series owning to how heavy that plane is. There is a reason La-5 series out dogfight the 190 but have trouble in anything but vertical with 109. The advantages of powerful engine at low speed and altitudes is vertical loop da whooping, while good wing area and low induced drag gives you advantages in horizontal (This is also the reason the 150 oct spit will seal club everything axis has to offer). Tempest has both thanks to slim wing, but is monster when it comes to sheer engine power and has very strong elevator and rudder. You can exploit this at the top of the loop where stalls dont matter and you have -1g to help you to make really tight turn. 109 just dont have the elevator authority to pull that last bit of lead you need to beat Tempest, even if it can keep up with it in horizontal. Ive had that happen to me many times in K-4, the Tempest will get me in his sights a good second before i can do from same energy state. And hispanos make a short work out of you. Axis really have slim margins when it come to advantages over BoP allied stuff. No longer blanket superiority that they used to enjoy over VVS stuff. 109 G-14 and K4 is very well rounded planes, yes, but only have situational advantages left for them. (and this show in team numbers, when all the ex-Hartmanns have switched sides to allied) Edited November 8, 2019 by Cpt_Siddy 3
