Exhaust effects need toning down

When on combat/emergency power the amount of smoke being thrown out by the prop aircraft is crazy. They look like a 1960s jet exhaust!

 

I think they need toning down a lot.

Based on multiple pilot accounts about the think black smoke pouring out of aircraft on full throttle (especially 190s), the effect seems about right to me.

 

Things clean up quite a lot when aircraft are on cruise settings and with the fuel mixture appropriately set.

Is not only exhaust smoke, all smokes, fluid leakages... looks a bit overdone (IMHO), but overall the majority of people enjoy "Hollywood" like effects. So rest us get used. ?
