Simplified physiology checkbox does the opposite thing?

QMB multi-plane mission. Checked ‘simplified physiology’ to play around With the p38. No blackouts.

then I crashed, switched player plane to the f4 and restarted without changing anything else and had blackouts.

”simplified physiology” was still checked.

then I unchecked it and the blackouts stopped.

The effect of this checkbox seems to have inverted itself after changing planes. Is this a bug?

Something is wrong with the settings staying set.  In VR the setting that lets your head move around in the cockpit just randomly changes to the opposite (even thought the UI settings still shows the same) and it randomly works again several sessions later.  I have a feeling the simplified physics and physiology have the same problem.  I have always run simplified physics and I can feel the difference when it's not activated.
