Oh yes. Some 30 years ago I had this plastc kit. Airfix 1/24 scale if I remember correctly. Bring it on!

You would be correct! I have one of these still in the original box in a box of old models from when my father was a teen in the 70's. One day when I get a paint area set up I want to do this kit.

Looks nice! I will have that, once I get out my Apartment into the new house. My uncle is going help me install a ventilation system like he did in his basement. We do a lot of military aircraft, fire apparatus and HO scale railroad models. I have everything other than the space at the moment lol

Brings back memories for me too.

 

At the time Airfix did 3, 1/24 scale kits, Spitfire Mk.1a, Bf109E-4(I think) and that P-51 in the cover pic. I already had the Spit & 109, then the guy next to me in school produced the P-51 and that was in 1972

I'm looking at THAT as well... The Mustang I got off've Mrs Rap around 25 years ago and the Spit I got off've eBay to remind me of the 1:24 scale one I got as a kid in around 1971!...

ps They're both looking a wee bit worse for wear as they get all brittle and stuff as time goes on (and it DOES, believe me!).

Old is merely a matter of perception. Body old, brain still as old as it was when I got that Airfix Model... possibly even younger (it was 10 then)!!  Mary's on her way, the chequers take forEVER, take it from me!!
