Devs are clever. They know what most of their customers wants. New planes. Who cares for limited and buggy netcode and other things which should be fixed. Iknow, we, MP players are less in numbers. But we, along with the devs made this sim famous. WE pushed them to make it better and better. We can burry it too. Nobody will be happy though. Some of my squad mates already decided they wont be buying anything new unless they see important fixes for MP players.

Devs can ignore those issues and they can drawn themselves and us along in the way. You can laugh now but we will see what it will be. WW2 combat sim genre is already small and declining....

Oh btw, the new cheat appeared. prnt scrn or whataver they press and plane is invisible at close range. Like the speed cheat wasnt enough....

I hope they put the 3D modellers to work immediately to fix the netode

That should go well

Or good news for those of us hoping for a late war eastern front setting. ;)

I choose to see it this way too - the potential to have a career running through from early to the end of the war on one front, with all the development going along with that, is exciting. Happy for whatever may come first (fingers crossed on Italy or New Guinea), but glad this option is there.

I made a video going over what the next possible expansions could be.

A few thing to note. The Italians and the Japanese are listed as factions in a new coalitions tab in the full mission editor. Then there is the fact the Imperial Japanese flag is on the Axis tab in the aircraft selection tab in the QMB (Jason's off handed jokes about it aside). The original plan after the Kuban expansion was to do the Battle of Bodenplatte expansion so they could have more time to research and work on doing a PTO expansion. North Africa and the Battle of Britain expansions are off the table since Team Fusion at Cliffs of Dover are working on them. And they have also said I believe that they wanted to move away from more Eastern Front expansions.

You can really narrow the list of possibilities down considerably.

It basically narrows down to a Pacific expansion, a Mediterranean expansion, a Korean expansion (courtesy of the Me-262s development), possibly a Battle of France expansion, or another Flying Circus expansion (since vol.1 is in the name of the first, its implied a second will come).

OR, (and I really hope this isn't the case, because it would be really sad), Bodenplatte might end up being the last expansion for whatever reason. That is one thing I'm afraid of. I don't know why I'm afraid of this. This sim has been so amazing. Flight sims have always been a niche thing and they've managed to do so much with so little. Imagine what Il-2GB would be like if they had the same amount of funding, staff and technology as Microsoft does with its new 2020 flight simulator. At this point, we'd be discussing what is left for them to do... ?

Let them hire a guy who can do it. For change.

Perhaps they need to sell some more new shiny aircraft to pay for the right guy

Even so it has been explained several times by Dev's why this is such a hard proposition, and something they know about and would love to put time into

This is what I fear, and given all the negative, poorly thought out criticism they are receiving on this forum, I would not blame them if they threw in the towel.

Any late German collector plane can block for us in the future the possibility to create late Eastern Front battle.

I would assume that at some point you guys will be forced into making 'half' expansions. The options remaining for the German side are relatively low, in terms of actually "unique" single engines there are probably none already.

Is this not something that would make sense? 5 plane packs for one side for instance? Lower development time and faster turn-around for an expansion?

At some point they are going to have to rethink their 5/5 development model, at least if they continue in Europe.  Your idea is not a bad one.   It would not be a 1/2 price affair though as the map is also a very expensive creation process.  I had proposed 10 planes just not in a 5/5 split.  Releasing more individual planes is also a possibility but IMHO new maps are as important ass new planes.

A shameless poll link, but so incredibly relevant:

if you zoom out and look what was done in span of development of just this BoBp youll see they are not only making new airplanes and dlcs, they spend a lot of time on game improvments and new aditions to gamplay, so they need to fined a balance where they can make new stuff so existing players spend money and improve, and for now that balance is ok from my pov. Its time for new airplanes, so they can do more other stuff. Its simple, it cant be only new stuff or only game fixes or improvments.

It's not down to just one guy, engine needs some polishing to sustain more ground units and planes at one place.

I would support devs if they plan to do it, i will support them if they go to PTO but if some plans regarding performance and engine upgrades are on list i will buy kite simulator if needed and gift it multiple times.

So far i bought everything except TC cos i don't want to give false immpresion for game direction.

Since i bought VR and amount of units around me dips down performance (heavy stutters) i really wish they rework engine regarding that so it can sustain greater battles.

True, last two years game evolved a lot, i hope they'll continue that trend, perfect scenario would be PTO preorder with prolonged development due to engine improvements and netcode.

It could expand community by lot, build it and they'll come ;)

What are you talking about...game MP "exists" with 2-3 servers with 80ppl each at best, and with more than 60 ppl its stutter fiesta. Netcode is crap and game engine would not hold larger bomber formations, big SEOW wars nor aircraft carriers so forget about PTO or ynything dimmilar. This game has less and less online players and after this joke with new visibility system....I mean I cant see planes near me and below me but I can see planes ftom 40km away...and If I zoom in dots are smaller..wtf...Im very disappointed now...Sure I like new planes but wont last long...they need to sort out the engine and netcode if they want good future of this genre...
