When you say making them more weathered , do you mean more "dirty" or more like worn off? Or do yo mean not as white? Did some quick image googling of WW2 photos but can't find any nice references. Any good references are MOST welcome!

Yep, more dirty and may be not so white if its not an ac at D day or shortly after.

These are fighters on the front, making heavy buisness, no time for cleaning them. (This is my opinion, others may like it clean)

I love dirty, weatherd ac!

 

You re last release fits much more better in my eyes.

Guess this is the final version. Went ahead and weathered the whole aircraft

 

If anyone wants copies of the skins i will happily share. Might even make "new" ones if anyone want them with their own nose art. Or without any nose art for that matter. Non OD version is th e same but the weathering shows best on OD for obvious reasons.

I had the same issues with the P-47D when I started skinning it.

 

Go to your alpha template and lighten the black in the area giving you problems.

 

It doesn't have to be by much, just make sure it isn't absolute black as the game engine reads that as a transparent area.

Out of my skill set, but is adding the metal reflective layer really challenging on an existing skin? Also, I have no idea who created it (my pictures) as the nose doesn't have the red paint around the gun ports as it does in the post I quoted?
