Hello All,

I have purchased a used Saitek X52, which came without the programming software.

I have downloaded the latest drivers for the stick off their website, but it does not seem to be the same as what I've seen that was supplied on a CD, most notably, there is no way to change the brightness level or time and date on the stick.

I can bind for BOX, but I would like to attach the pinky key to the shift key, which I cannot figure out to do.

I am a fabricator by trade, but very naive when it comes to programming and computers. Its not that I can comprehend the information, I just can figure out where to find the information.

any help or links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

James

I had an X52. If I remember correctly, I had a hard time getting the hardware be recognized and took several attempts to finally get it to work. There were instructions from online forums on how to do it, but the official one was useless.

You can try the Joytokey program if you’re only concern is to have a shift key. I had that 4-way button on the throttle assigned to shift, ctrl, and alt. Pretty much tripled the existing functions when combined with other buttons.

Latest version of software for X-52 is provide by Logitech (now Saitek brand owner):

https://support.logi.com/

Since Saitek software is know by some "quirks" (e.g. BSOD), a good alternative is Joystick Gremlin.

But for simple set "pinky" button to press "shift" can try JoyToKey, that is simple to use and work well, without "collateral effects".

I had problems with logitech software, once whole profile lost the bindings. After that I use joy2key only.

thanks everyone, Ill try joy2key  and see if it works for me.  I like the stick, but support is garbage.

currently saving for the warthog, its going to be a while though.  I need TrackIR first.

I was just wondering, is there any site I can download the equivalent to what the CD had on it when new? I would think Logitech would have a way to download the same program when you get the stick new, but I sure can't seem to find it.  I did go to their site and download some sort of mapping software, but it doesn't have anything close to what the original manual talks about.

I think it's worth it LoL, The throttle has a bit of a function overkill IMO, and i use only a few buttons like levers, flaps mainly, and a modded button in the levers for rudder sofar. As i don't have rudder pedals i can only recommend the controller button mod made by deltasimelectronics for this. The one most folks use for that is a bit too rough.  It's not so easy to fit yourself if you're not a handyman though. It's a lot cheaper to get the throttle unit sold with the TM 16000, has really good levers for rudder control. i almost sold my warthog throttle unit to go back to this before the mod.

Though I think you can get it from their website, I have a copy of the Saitek software if you would like a copy. I used that in preference of the Logitech software for a couple of years until I got the new X56.

PM me and I will Dropbox it you to.

What is target?  I'm new to the game and the lingo..

TARGET is "programming" software exclusive for Thrustmaster controllers.

Thing is that version in CD is old, may are not compatible with latest versions of Windows 10.

Software from Thrustmaster .. the standard keymapping involved with IL2's own interface is quite OK, and if problems with joystick recognition, most cases you can fix this with USBdeview and JoyID, both windows tools. Took me a while to figure that out ....

Thanks for the help, this is all new to me, and I'm having a go at getting it sorted out. Frustrating but not over my head.

i hand build somewhat complicated industrial electrical panels worth thousands, from nothing but a schematic and a box of parts, often "correcting" a customers Engineers theory when they don't get something right, but a silly joystick has me confused, lol.

Attached is a picture of a panel I built last week for a customer for the first time, and had to correct the Engineer"s schematic (blueprint) in about 10 different places to get it to be properly wired.  This is easy.  Joystick is hard.  Go figure...

And that’s what is awesome about humans as well. We come together to help others here through the common bond of their love of flight.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to add how I got the x52 programming software installed.

Download the latest software package from Logitech's website.

Open the downloaded .exe archive using 7zip or another archive software you have. Extract the software folder somewhere and then run the setup.exe from that folder. Tada x52 programming software.

Is that in IL2 or CLoD? And if you use steam go to game's properties-general, and use these settings:
