56RAF_Roblex Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) A short video from last night showing how the Tempest can follow and bounce a 262 successfully. We had seen a bogie lower down and turned to investigate. From the speed it seemed likely it was a Me262 but we were able to converge and follow without losing much ground. Perhaps if we had not bracketed him and he had not turned almost 90 degrees to make his bomb run we may have found it harder. It is still a very hard plane to stop if you do not have an altitude advantage and the Tempest does not fight as well at high altitude so there is a narrow band in which you can dive on 262s while still being able to defend against 190s. 56RAF_Roblex Posted October 3, 2019 Author Posted October 3, 2019 (edited) I remade the video again as stabilisation had been added to the first and it made the distant contact hard to see. This version is 'slightly' better Edited October 3, 2019 by 56RAF_Roblex 1 2
