I have been leaning towards HP reverb as an upgrade (currently use Rift).  It is being sold directly from HP for $500, which seems like a great deal (seems to be $650 in other places).  Any reason not to jump on this?

Is anything more needed than the headset?  I really don't care about the controllers as I only use it to play this game.

I can go higher on price for a better set but I value clarity, which is why I am leaning towards the Reverb.  I do understand that its sweet spot is less than Index and its FoV is less than Pimax.  Pimax 8 is coming out in December - opinions on that set?

Based on what you have stated I would think the Reverb would be a great choice for you.

Seems to win in the resolution department, not so great in room tracking or controllers but sounds like you have no

need for that anyway.

Yes, as said above, if you prefer more definition over FOV or Sweetspot then the Reverb is your headset. No doubt. It has also an amazing price for the pack and you don´t need basestations (but will need some light in the room).

I have compared Index, Pimax5K+ and Reverb in the threads and all of them are great devices. You will be happy with any of those three.

I kept the Index since I prefer sweetspot+FOV over resolution.

But coming from Rift you will be superhappy with your Reverb! and also the WMR Motion Reprojection (equivalent to Oculus ASW) does a very very good job. So, you should not be worried about performance.

Do you by any change have a link to this 500,- pricetag? In Hollands its 650-680 euro's, and I'd love to order one!

$500 is the consumer variant, which has the shorter cable and cloth face pad rather than leather. I’ve been waiting for it to be available here in the UK but only the pro is so far..

Just ordered the 650,- pro version, looking forward to trying it, no consumer version available in NL by the looks of it...
