sevenless Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I found two nice profiles for your consideration. Bremner of No. 486 and Umbers of No. 3 Sqd: 2

EAF19_Marsh Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Umbers was killed as C/O of 486 (heart-breaking description of it in Sheddan's book), so should his Tempest not be an SA code rather than JF (which is No. 3 Squadron)?

The artwork depicts his plane at the time when he shot down mentioned 262 at 21st October 1944. His plane when he died at Meppen in 1945 was a different plane of 486 Squadron.

You're totally correct, he was there summer '44 to winter '44-'45. Really looking forward to these skins!
sevenless Posted October 9, 2019 Author Posted October 9, 2019 Two more well known Tempest aces of 486 Sqd. S/Ldr. Jimmy Sheddan SA-M and S/Ldr. Warren 'Smokey' Schrader SA-A. 1
