Meilenstein Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Hello everyone, I'm valuing to buy (whenever they want to sell me their product) the starvr to give exclusive use to il2 and dcs simulators, but another threat is around my head to know that star vr uses graphics card by lens With some 2080ti sli, it is possible that it would not have an acceptable performance due not only to its resolution, but that fov of 210º must completely kill any gpu, I come from some htc, I want to upgrade to a new generation valve index was my first choice, but the speed that advances starvr technology could really be a generation 2 that can amortize over the years, I know that index in 2 years will be out of every market What do you think, should I stick to what is described with starvr or buy index and forget all this? https://www.starvr.com/
fiddlinjim Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 The Star looks very interesting, provided it is as good as the advertising. Hope you get one and report on the use of it in IL2. DCS VR is minimally OK now but improving their implementation to equal IL2 appears to be a long way off at this time.
SunCup Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 (edited) STAR VR one is using eye tracking (which reduces the GPU's workload) but wasn't desine for Simulation but for christal rendery for industry. Not to take about the price they seems not to sell to end customer. For the while the only VR machine dedicated to Sim is the PIMAX8K X +eye tracking option + upscaling. (Hoping they got their quality issues solved) Edited October 7, 2019 by SunCup
SR-F_Winger Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 The 8KX with Eye tracking is an interesting option. But i got to hope some some Graphics artist/3D modeler side business to get the money scratched together before i could afford that kind of money. When was the 8KX becoming available?
SunCup Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Backers should get it starting mid December, others should wait 2020 (maybe before Summer) to order it, there after delivery lead time could be a quater.
