Rheinland is PERFECT for Ju-52 missions

I’ve been doing some research into the Fallschirmjäger recently, and found that they actually conducted an airborne operation in the area of the Rheinland map. Operation Stösser comprised of around 1200 German inexperienced paratroopers, flown in behind the Allied lines by inexperienced Ju-52 pilots, who were tasked with capturing two crossroads (I’m guessing the ones at 2717/8 and 2518/2 on the map) and holding them until the 12th SS Panzer Division reached them. The operation, taking off from Lippsringe at 2AM on December 17th, 1944, was a failure, with the combination of no recon, inexperienced pilots, and the driving snowstorm they had to fly in resulting in the drops being made far off target (250 men were dropped on Bonn by mistake).

I think it would make for a great mission. Here are some resources for any mission makers who are interested:

What a colossal blunder!

I can't shake the image off my mind: confused paratroopers talking to an old guy in lederhosen in the streets.

"So, Opa, where are we?"

".... Bonn!"

"Oh."
