Bremspropeller Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 No offense taken. While it would be nice from a functionality standpoint to have the airplane as well equipped, as "standard", I think it's a nice touch nonetheless to have a less than ideal aircraft depicted. As long as the airplane performs up to stats, I don't really care. The ammo-counters offer little: Most aircraft in game don't even have them to begin with. I can live with it... Remember: The airplane also features an EZ 42, R4M and in career lets you fly with MW 50 in October '44. So there's a good deal on the "have" side... 1
Legioneod Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 (edited) In all honesty I've always though the D-9 to be one of the best looking aircraft in the sim when it comes to model/texture. Edited June 26, 2020 by Legioneod 1 5
1CGS LukeFF Posted June 26, 2020 1CGS Posted June 26, 2020 The D-9 model is meant to represent a mid-production model plane, not one in the early fall of '44, when there was still a chance to have everything as Focke-Wulf intended to be. Hence why you see things like missing ammo counters, wooden instrument boards, and hand-painted placards. 1

I consider the D-9 to be my most favorite plane in IL-2. Looks great. Sounds great. Feels great. Smells great. 1
