Individual Objects In The ME

Is there an list of objects that can be placed on the map?  I know there are objects and object groups that can be chosen from the left hand dialog box in the ME.  There are even (very) small icons that display them.  I am just wondering if there a better visual representation anywhere? 

What I'm looking to do is to place some warehouse type buildings or a reasonable facsimile beside a river to make a ad hoc river port.

Is there a 'River Port' object group?

Or am I just being wishful for a more 1946 like selection list?
